1/26/01 T-Shirt Fundraiser

I would like to personally thank Bill and Joan Wildman of Bill Wildman Floor Covering, for their efforts in helping the families of Kevin McDonald and Michael Annes. They purchased 100 Memorial T-Shirts to help. There was a large article in the Waterbury paper with photos of the families. You can view the two photos in Kevin McDonald's Photo Gallery. Also, the Memorial T-Shirts for Kevin McDonald have been ordered and should be in soon.

1/18/01 FireHouse Funnies Additions

Well folks, I finally when into my practical jokes folder. There weren't too many that I felt comfortable with putting on the website. I added my version of the Budweiser Wassup commercial, and a joke I sent to an officer who was FireFighter of the Year 1998 in Waterbury. I don't mean to single you out Mike, but they are funny. You can see them on the FireHouse Funnies page.

I would also like to welcome our newest affiliate FireStorm Videos.

1/15/01 Helmet Stickers and Announcement

Well the first batch of 2000 helmet stickers went quick. They are back in stock, the second shipment of helmet stickers is in. Information on how to order them is on the Kevin McDonald's Helmet Sticker page. They are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Proceeds to go to the McDonald Family Fund.

Here is the ultrasound picture of my boy. My wife and I just found out that our second child, due in June, is going to be a boy. We are going to name him Kevin Patrick McDonald.

1/12/01 Calling All Rogue Spear Players

I just wanted to post a note here about Online Gaming. I am a Rogue Spear fanatic, and have gotten a few people from the department to join me on the Microsoft Gaming Zone. My name on the Zone is WFD_BaNDiT, zone message me if you are on the Zone. Anyone who plays Rogue Spear or is interested in playing, please Email Me.

1/7/01 New Photo and New Sponsors

I would like to thank Tom Meier for the photo he submitted. It was taken the night before Kevin McDonald passed away, at the FireFighter of the Year award ceremony, where Tome Meier was decorated. I added it to Kevin McDonald's Photo Gallery.

I would like to welcome two new sponsors, Eagle Emblems & Graphics, and Firefighters Bookstore.

1/5/01 Blood Platelet Donations

After my cousin Kevin passed away, I found out that he had donated blood platelets 99 times. His brother Mark donated the 100th time in his stead. It seems Kevin has had a profound effect on alot of people. Last week I gave blood for the first time since high school. In all, 74 pints were collected for a blood drive done in his memory. Next month I am going to follow his example and donate blood platelets.
Anyone who is interested in donating blood platelets please call the Red Cross. Judy Hughes can be reached at (860) 678-2749. Donations are taken in Farmington, CT. The first visit takes only a 1/2 hour, and allows them to count your platelets. Two weeks later you can donate - that takes about 1-1/2 to 2 hours. The only preperation required is to drink a couple extra glasses of water the day before. Platelets collected from donors are used for patients who require numerous platelet transfusions, for example leukemia and cancer patients who have received chemotherapy.
