'home but not better'. He is still in a hospital bed and will be
receiving home therapy until he is ambulatory. Brian faces many months
of recovery and a 'free list' is in the works. More information when

12/20/06 New FireFighting Videos
Waterbury Fire Captain Bob Stoeckert brought the first of these videos to my
attention and the other I found on YouTube. Both videos show the hazards of
our chosen profession, and how quickly things can go wrong. Always watch for
the telltale signs of a backdraft and always wear your personal protective
equipment.

I was able to visit Waterbury FireFighter Brian Barnosky at Waterbury
Hospital the day after his accident. They are medicating him, but you
can see he is still in alot of pain. Due to the volume of visitors,
the hospital has moved him to a larger one-patient room. His brother
Steven calls it the 'high-rollers suite'. Brian's recovery is going
to be a long one, so a 'free list' is going to be established as soon
as he runs out of sick time. I will post more details when this list
comes about.

I have been getting alot of requests for my printable calendars for
the Waterbury Fire Department. Please visit the
WFD Schedule
page for links to the
Printable Calendars.
I have created a color version with all 3 shifts, a black & white
version with all 3 shifts, and individually highlighted A, B, and C
Shift black & white calendars.

clavicle, bruised his lungs, and has hairline fractures in his back.
He is recovering from his injuries at Waterbury Hospital. His son was
not injured in the crash.

12/8/06 New FireFighting Video
I found an interesting video online that shows one of the dangers associated
with car fires. At first, this looks like a no big deal car fire, but wait
until the nozzleman hits the steering column and causes a magnesium explosion.
