Our condolences to the Holmes family and the Pine Township Engine
Company of Grove City, Pennsylvania. FireFighter Brad Holmes, 21,
a volunteer with the Pine Township Engine Company, died Wednesday
February 5, 2008. Brad and Lt. Scott King entered a burning duplex
and were trapped on the second floor while rescuing a victim. Both
firefighters and the victim were rescued by a rapid intervention
team and were tranported to UPMC Mercy Hospital. The victim did not
survive, Lt. King was treated and released, but Brad remained
hospitalized with burns to 75 percent of his body. He succumbed to
his injuries six days later.
Our brother Brad leaves behind his parents Joseph and Debbie, his
brother Pine Township Fire Chief Christopher Holmes, and his fiancee
Alisha Graham. A visitation for Brad will be held on Friday February
7, 2008 2-4PM and 6-9PM at Cunningham Funeral Home in Grove City. A
funeral service for Brad will be held on Saturday February 8, 2008
1PM at the Grove City College Gymnasium. A memorial fund has been
