Our condolences to the Neff family and the Harford Fire
Department of New York. Deputy Chief Bret Neff, 37, a
veteran firefighter with the Harford Fire Department died
Monday February 23, 2004. Bret was working to fill a 750
gallon portable water pond at a mobile home fire when the
tanker he was standing behind rolled backwards collapsing
the water pond and pinning him against another apparatus.
Bret was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre,
Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.

Bret was a member of the Spencer Fire Department of New
York before joining the Harford Fire Department. He was also
an EKG Technician at the Caygua Medical Center in Ithaca,
New York.

Our brother Bret leaves behind his 10 year old son Dusty.
A visitation will be held for Bret on Thursday February 26,
2004 3-7PM at Perkins Funeral Home in Dryden, New York.
A funeral will be held for Bret on Friday February 27, 2004
and a memorial service is being planned for the Spring. A
memorial fund has been established and donations can be
