Our condolences to the Flowers family and the New Caney Volunteer Fire Department of Texas. Assistant Chief Charles Flowers, 61, a 26 year veteran of the New Caney Volunteer Fire Department died Monday January 5, 2004. Charles had suffered a heart attack at the scene of a motor vehicle extrication on November 17th. He was transported to a local hospital and treated, where he remained until December 17th when he was released to finish his rehabilitation at home. Charles died in his sleep on Monday January 5, 2004.

     Charles served the New Caney Volunteer Fire Department as Chief, Captain, and finally as Assistant Chief. He was also a representative to the Montgomery County Fire Chief's Association and a member of the Emergency Services Ministries.

     Our brother Charles leaves behind his wife, Betty, his son Charles Junior, and his daughters Gay Lynn and Benita. A funeral will be held for Charles on Wednesday January 7, 2004 2PM at Rosewood Funeral Home in Porter. A memorial fund has been established and donations can be made to:
