On this Saturday May 3rd, after 14 months, Waterbury FireFighter
Joe Bogdanski was officially welcomed home from his second
deployment in the Middle East. Joe, his wife Sandy, and daughter
Sophie, were lifted in the bucket of Truck 2 to remove the Blue
Star Flag that has flown at Northside Fire Station since January
27, 2007. Welcome home Joe and nice job Troy. Please visit

I was approached by a member of the Waterbury Fireman's Aid Assoc.
to help create the monthly layout for the 2009 calendar. The top half
of the calendar includes photos of the WFD in action, while the bottom
half is the monthly layout. I have included the 3 shift work schedule,
4 shift work schedule, kelly days and kelly groups, as well as color
coordinating the 3 shifts and indicating holidays. This 12 page .pdf

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of John Dwyer,
son of Waterbury FireFighter Vincent Dwyer. A visitation for John
will be held on Monday April 21, 2008 5-8PM at Casey-O'Donnell
Family Funeral Home. A funeral mass for John will be held on Tuesday
April 22, 2008 11AM at Saints Peter and Paul Church followed by a
burial in Calvary Cemetery.
It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Thomas Unwin,
father-in-law of Waterbury Battalion Chief Rick Hart. A visitation for
Thomas will be held on Sunday April 20, 2008 4-7PM at Casey-O'Donnell
Family Funeral Home. A funeral mass for Thomas will be held on Monday
April 21, 2008 9:30AM at St. Francis Xavier Church followed by a burial
in Old St. Joseph's Cemetery.
