Our condolences to the Harvey family and the Philadelphia Fire
Department of Pennsylvania. Lieutenant Derrick Harvey, 45, a 14
year veteran of the Philadelphia Fire Department died Thursday
January 15, 2004. Derrick was seriously injured and burned when
he fell through the first floor of a residential structure fire on
Thursday Januray 8, 2004. He was rescued and transported to
Albert Einstein Medical Center via PFD Medic Unit then transferred
to Temple University Hospital Burn Unit where he died from his
injuries one week later.
Derrick was assigned to Squrt 72. Our brother Derrick leaves
behind his wife and two children, a 24-year-old stepson and
a 10-year-old daughter. Funeral and memorial information
will be posted when it is released.
