Our condolences to the Sherfick family and the Brown Township Fire-Rescue of Mooresville, Indiana. Captain David Sherfick, 40, an 18 year veteran of the Brown Township Fire-Rescue, died Monday February 4, 2008. David was operating an ambulance returning from an emergency run on Indiana 144 when a Jeep Cherokee traveling in the opposite direction, crossed center line and struck the ambulance head-on. Both David and the driver of the other vehicle were killed the accident. Another firefighter riding in the passenger seat of the ambulance was treated and released from a local hospital.

     David was currently a Captain for the Brown Township Fire Department. Previously, he was a Deputy Fire Marshal for White River Township Fire Department and also worked at Warren Township Fire Department, which is where he started as a FireFighter.

     Our brother David leaves behind his son Joel, his parents William and Karla, his sister Julie, and his special friend Leta. Calling hours for David will be held on Thursday February 7, 2008 4-8PM at Mooresville First United Methodist Church. A funeral service for David will be held on Friday February 8, 2008 10AM at Mooresville High School followed by a burial in Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
