Our condolences to the Wilson family and the Fredericktown Community
Fire District of Ohio. FireFighter Donald Wilson, 53, a 25 year veteran
of the Fredericktown Fire Department, died Sunday May 11, 2008. Don lost
his battle with colon cancer and passed away at Knox Community Hospital
surrounded by his family.
Don started his EMS work at Martin Memorial Hospital Life Support Team,
where he worked for 10 years. Then he served 18 years on the Fredericktown
Fire Department as a Lieutenant and Training Officer. Don was currently
serving our community for the past 25 years as a Paramedic and Firefighter
with the Mount Vernon Fire Department, where he was also the EMS coordinator.
He was an instructor in Basic and Advanced Life Support and Pediatric
Emergency Care for North Central State College and Central Ohio Technical
College.
Our brother leaves behind his wife Lori, and his two children Kirstie
and Zach. Calling hours for Don will be held on Wednesday May 14, 2008
2-8PM at Palmyra Church of Christ on Ohio 13, just south of the
Knox/Richland County line. Funeral arrangements are pending.
