Our condolences to the Malinski family and the Northern Wayne Fire Company of Lakewood,
Pennsylvania. FireFighter Edmund Malinski, 39, a 15 year veteran of the Northern Wayne
Fire Company died Monday November 4, 2002. Edmund was pulled from a residential
structure fire by his brothers while conducting interior operations. His cause of death is
still under investigation.
The fire was on South Preston Road in Lakewood on Thursday evening just after 9PM.
Edmund was pulled from the structure around 11PM and transported to Wayne County
Memorial Hospital where he was prounounced dead.
Our brother Edmund was stationed at Station 3 in Lakewood. Calling hours will be held
Thursday November 7, 2002 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Henderson Biedekapp Funeral Chapel
in Hancock, New York. A memorial funeral will be held on Friday November 8, 2002 2PM
at the Henderson Biedekapp Funeral Chapel in Hancock, New York. He leaves behind a
wife whom he just married a month prior, and a daughter from a previous marriage.
