Our condolences to the Summers family and the Patchogue Fire Department
of New York. FireFighter Edward Summers, 69, a 47 year veteran of the
Patchogue Fire Department, died Thursday June 28, 2007. Edward collapsed
from an apparent heart attack while performing a work detail at the
fire station. His brother firefighters attempted to revive him, but were
unsuccessful.
A visitation will be held for Edward on Monday July 2, 2007 2-4PM and
7-9PM at the fire station in Patchogue. A mass of christian burial will
be held for Edward on Tuesday July 3, 2007 9:45AM at Our Lady of the
Snow Roman Catholic Church in Blue Point. In lieu of flowers, the family
