Our condolences to the Boyert family and the Kansas City Kansas
Fire Department. Captain Gary Boyert, 53, a 29 year veteran of the
Kansas City Kansas Fire Department died Monday November 17,
2003. Gary was responding as a safety officer to a general alarm
on a wet and foggy night in a department Ford Crown Victoria
when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree landing upside
down next to a utility pole. Gary was extricated by his brothers
and was transported to a local hospital but died shortly after from
his injuries.
Our brother Gary leaves behind his wife Debra, and two grown
children. A visitation will be held for Gary on Friday November 21,
2003 5PM-8PM at Turner Middle School in Kansas City. A funeral
will be held for Gary on Saturday November 22, 2003 9AM at
Turner Middle School followed by a burial at Maple Hill Cemetery in
Kansas City. A memorial fund has been established and donations
