Our condolences to the Crotts family and the Willow Grove Volunteer Fire
Company of Pennsylvania. FireFighter George Crotts, 70, a 53 year veteran
volunteer of the Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Company, died Saturday September
9, 2007. George was loading a 1923 American LaFrance Pumper on a trailer for
the North Penn Fire Company parade in North Wales when he fell and struck his
head. He was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital, where he passed away
from his injuries the next day.
George was still an active member of the Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Company
since joining in 1955. He was the treasurer and engineer for the company the
last several years and he also held the rank of Chief Engineer at one time.
Our brother George leaves behind his wife Ruth, his four children and nine
grandchildren. A viewing will be held for George on Friday September 14, 2007
6-9PM at Chelten Baptist Church in Upper Dublin. A funeral service will be
held for George on Saturday September 15, 2007 11AM at Chelten Baptist Church
followed by internment at Whitemarsh Cemetery. A memorial fund has been
established and donations can be made to:
