FireFighter George Danielson, 77, a veteran with the Mine Hill Volunteer Fire Department died Friday, November 9, 2001. George was directing traffic in front of the fire station on Friday, September 14, 2001 as companies were returning from the scene of a chimney fire when he was struck by a private vehicle and sustained multiple injuries. He was transported to the hospital for treatment where he remained until he passed away as a result of his injuries.
