Our condolences to the Strode family and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture Division of Forestry. FireFighter Harold Strode, 46, a 3 year veteran of the Tennessee Forestry Division, died Saturday, November 10, 2001. Harold and five other members of his crew were overcome by a firestorm in the densely wooded and steep terrain of the Upper Cumberland region of Tennessee. The five other members of his crew were able to cross the fireline to safety, but Harold was overtaken by the firestorm.

     Our brother, Harold, is survived by his wife, Vickie, and two sons, 24 and 17 years old. A memorial funeral service was held Tuesday, November 13, 2001, in Celina, Tennessee.
