Our condolences to the Allen family and the Philadelphia Fire Department of Pennsylvania. FireFighter James Allen, 43, a 7 year veteran of the Philadelphia Fire Department died Tuesday October 7, 2003. James was opening up the roof at a one alarm structure fire in the Port Richmond section of the city when he suffered an apparent heart attack. He was rushed to Northeastern Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

     James was assigned to Ladder 16 and graduated from the Fire Academy in 1996 with Class 170. His father FireFighter Thomas Allen retired just a few years ago. James also arranged for his organs to be donated.

     Our brother James leaves behind his wife Kathleen and his two daughters Angela (18) and Jamie (21). Calling hours will be held for James on Friday October 10, 2003 9-10AM at St. Anne's Church, East Lehigh Avenue and Memphis Street, before a funeral mass at 10AM followed by internment at Forest Hills Cemetery.
