Our condolences to the McAuley family and the Polk Township Volunteer Fire
Company of Pennsylvania. Fire Police Officer James McAuley, 78, a 12 year
veteran of the Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company died Friday January 17,
2003. James was performing his duties at the scene of a car fire when he
moved his truck. He was found slumped over the wheel a short time later
apparently having suffered a heart attack. His brothers performed CPR and
transported him to Palmerton Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
James had previously been a member of the Capitol View Volunteer Fire
Department and the Trachsville Volunteer Fire Department. Our brother James
leaves behind his wife Doris, two adult sons, and three grandchildren.
Requiem Eucharist and Burial Office will be celebrated on Friday January 24,
2003 7PM at St. John's Episcopal Church in Palmerton. Graveside services will
be held for James Saturday January 25, 2003 11AM at Morrisville Cemetery.
