Our condolences to the Miller family and the Sesser Fire Protection
District of Illinois. FireFighter James Miller, 43, a 22 year veteran
of the Sesser Fire Protection District, died Friday July 27, 2007.
James was packing hose after an early morning semi tractor trailer fire
on Interstate 57 when he was struck and killed by a passing Greyhound
bus. The driver of the bus has been charged with violating Scott's Law.
The law requires motorists to slow down or pull over when going through
accident scenes.
Our brother James leaves behind his wife Sherry, and his daughters Misty
and Jenny Miller. A visitation will be held for James on Tuesday July
31, 2007 5-9PM and also on Wednesday August 1, 2007 11-1PM at First
Baptist Church of Sesser. A funeral service will be held for James on
Wednesday August 1, 2007 1PM at First Baptist Church of Sesser followed
by a burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established
