Joseph Turner, 48, a volunteer with the Clinch/Homerville
Volunteer Fire Department, died Thursday February 22, 2008.
Joey was participating in a non-burn training exercise in
full turnout at the Georgia Fire Academy when he suffered an
apparent heart attack. He received immediate CPR and AED
treatment and was transported to a local hospital in critical
condition. He was tranferred to Macon Medical Center where he
was removed from life support the following day.

Master Sergeant Joseph Turner was a 22 year veteran of the
United States Marine Corp Reserve.

Our brother Joseph leaves behind his wife Suzanne, his son Jeb,
his step-daughter Crystal, and his step-son Matt. A visitation
for Joseph will be held on Tuesday February 26, 2008 6-9PM at
Roundtree Funeral Home in Homerville. A funeral service for
Joseph will be held on Wednesday February 27, 2008 2PM at
Homerville Congregational Methodist Church followed by
internment in Victory Methodist Church Cemetery in Manor.
