Our condolences to the Whiteley family and the Emmett City Fire
Department of Idaho. FireFighter Kevin Whiteley, 47, a ten year
veteran of the Emmett City Fire Department died Wednesday
March 26, 2003. Kevin had responded to a natural gas leak call
on Wednesday evening. He did an interior check on air and
returned to the apparatus to doff his airpack and fill out his
report. About half of an hour later he collapsed from an apparent
heart attack. He was rushed by Gem County Ambulance to Walter
Knox Memorial Hospital where he died shortly thereafter.
Our brother Kevin leaves behind his wife, Tammy, his daughter,
Mindy (23), and his son Mark (16). A memorial service is planned
for Saturday March 29, 2003. A funeral for Kevin will be held on
Saturday March 29, 2003 10AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church
in Emmett followed by a burial at Emmett Cemetery. A memorial
