Lattie Collins, 36, a volunteer with the department for just three months died Wednesday January
8, 2003. Lattie was responding to the fire station for an MVA dispatch when his personal vehicle
was struck at a large intersection.
Lattie was the pastor at the First Presbyterian Church in Donalsonville and president of the local
ministerial association, and had served as police and sheriff chaplain for the local departments.
Lattie was also credited with working on disaster relief to help flood victims in September of 2002.
Our brother Lattie leaves behind his wife Shelly and his seven-month-old baby daughter Hannah.
A funeral will be held for Lattie on Saturday January 11, 2003 2PM at Presbyterian Church in
Donalsonville. A burial will be held later in Mobile, Alabama. Several memorial fund have been
