Our condolences to the Gant family and the Winslow Township
Fire Department of New Jersey. Lieutenant Leslie Gant, 46, a
30 year veteran firefighter with the Winslow Township Fire
Department died Thursday January 8, 2004. Leslie felt some
dizziness after returning from a motor vehicle accident response
with Engine Company 2572 on January 4th. He returned home
to rest but later his family took him to Thomas Jefferson Hospital
in Philadelphia where it was determined he had suffered a stroke.
He died days later.
Leslie was a veteran firefighter, serving Runnemede Station 75
for 20 years, the Magnolia Fire Company Station 291, and the
last 10 years at the Sicklerville Fire Company. Leslie was inspired
by his father, who was a 50 year veteran firefighter.
Our brother Leslie leaves behind his wife Carol and his daughter
Kelli. A viewing will be held for Leslie on Monday January 12,
2004 6-9PM and Tuesday January 13, 2004 10AM-12PM at
Gardner's Funeral Home in Runnemede. A Fire Department
Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at noon
followed by a burial at Berlin Cemetery in Berlin. A memorial
