Our condolences to the McKean and Talley families, and the Aston Fire Protection District of Illinois. FireFighter/EMT Mike McKean, 32, and FireFighter/EMT Clint Talley, 27, died Saturday morning February 17, 2001. Mike and Clint were killed when they were caught in a basement flashover of a single story brick home with three other firefighters. Both firefighters were rescued but were pronounced dead after bring flown to Rockford Memorial Hospital. Chief Pat Hilliker of the Franklin Grove Fire Protection District was treated for smoke inhalation, and two Ashton firefighters were treated for burns.

     Our brothers Mike and Clint both leave behind a wife and two small children each. A memorial service for Mike and Clint was held Tuesday February 20, 2001 7PM at Ashton High School. Funeral services for Clint will be held Wednesday Feb 21, 2001 10AM at Ashton United Methodist Church. Funeral services for Mike will follow at 3PM.
