Our condolences to the McNamara family and the Lancaster Fire
Department of Massachusets. FireFighter Martin McNamara, 31,
a 3 year veteran of the Lancaster Fire Department died Saturday
November 29, 2003. Martin was operating in the basement of a
farmhouse structure fire when firefighters were driven out of the
structure by exploding aerosol cans. During roll call Martin was
unaccounted for. His brothers returned but were able to find
only his helmet before being driven back by heavy fire. His
body was recovered later that day. Three other firefighters
were injured during the blaze.
Our brother Martin leaves behind his expecting wife Claire, and
his two daughters Molly and Elizabeth. A funeral service for Martin
will be held Tuesday December 4, 2003 at Saint John the Evangelist
Church in Clinton with a burial to follow at St. John's Cemetery in
Lancaster. A memorial fund has been established and donations
