Our condolences to the Sanders family and the North Carolina Division of
Forest Service. FireFighter Nemeth Sanders, 43, a member of the North
Carolina Division of Fire Service for a year, died Friday July 27, 2007.
Nemeth was returning from pumper training in the western part of North
Carolina in his personal vehicle when a tractor trailer heading in the
other direction was struck by vehicles and crossed the median of
Interstate 40 striking several vehicles in the eastbound lane including
Nemeth's. Several people were injured and transported to area hospitals
but Nemeth passed away from his injuries at the scene.
Our brother Nemeth leaves behind his son Matthew Lee, his daughter
Amanda Leigh, and his fiancee Gwen Rigsby. A funeral service for Nemeth
will be held on Sunday July 29, 2007 10AM at Joyner's Funeral Home in
Wilson. A graveside service will be held for Nemeth on Monday July 30,
2007 10AM at the Sanders Family Cemetery in Bailey.
