Our condolences to the Ellington family and the Oregon Hill Volunteer Fire Department of Reidsville, North Carolina. FireFighter Paul Ellington, 36, a 17 year veteran of the Oregon Hill Volunteer Fire Department, died Tuesday January 1, 2007. Paul was responding to a mobile home fire in his personal vehicle when he lost control of his vehicle before striking a group of trees and sliding down an embankment. Paul did not survive the crash.

     Paul came from a family of firefighters. His father Kenneth was a charter member of the Oregon Hill Fire Department 30 years ago and is still an active member. Paul joined the department at 18, and was honored as the 2003 FireFighter of the Year.

     Our brother Paul leaves behind his parents Kenneth and Annie. A visitation for Paul will be held on Thursday January 3, 2008 6-9PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Reidsville. A funeral for Paul will be held on Friday January 4, 2008 3PM at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Reidsville followed by an interment in the church cemetery. Memorials can be made to:
