Our condolences to the Neilson family and the Kenockee Township
Fire Department of Avoca, Michigan. FireFighter Peter Neilson, 74,
a former department chief of the Kenockee Township Fire Department,
died Monday December 17, 2007. Peter had responded with a crew to an
EMS response. He was speaking with family members in an adjoining room
when he sat down in a chair and passed out after suffering an apparent
heart attack. He was transported to a local hospital where he died
shortly after.
Our brother Peter leaves behind his wife Doris. A visitation for Peter
will be held on Friday December 21, 2007 2-8PM at Kaatz Funeral Directors
in Yale. A funeral service with full military honors for the former U.S.
Army Colenol will be held on Saturday December 22, 2007 11AM at the
funeral home. Interment will be held in a military cemetery near Holly.
