Our condolences to the Bennett family and the Orcutt Fire Department of California. Fire Chief Ronny Bennett, 39, a 23 year veteran of the Orcutt Fire Department, died Tuesday November 13, 2007. Ronny was paged at home for a medical call and suffered an apparent heart attack while preparing to depart. He was found at his residence deceased the following day by fire department personnel.

     Ron began his career with the Orcutt Fire Department at 16 years old. Starting as an Explorer, he was promoted through the ranks, becoming Chief of the Department in 2003. In addition to his responsibilities with the fire department, Ron was an Emergency Medical Technician with American Medical Response. He had eight years of service with AMR and was recently promoted to the Mental Health Assessment Team.

     Our brother Ronny leaves behind his parents Allen and Jerry Bennett, and his sister Dayna Bennett Davis. A visitation will be held for Ronny on Monday November 19, 2007 1-3PM at Magner-Maloney Funeral Home in Santa Maria. A funeral service will be held for Ronny on Tuesday November 20, 2007 10AM at Pacific Christian Church in Santa Maria. A memorial fund has been established and donations can be made to:
