Our condolences to the Broussard family and the Sycuan Fire Department of California. FireFighter Robert Broussard, 59, a
5 year veteran of the Sycuan Fire Department serving the Sycuan Reservation and San Diego County, died Friday May 31,
2002. Robert was performing the annual pack test for wildland firefighting certification when he collapsed. Medics on standby
responded immediately and Robert was airlifted to Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa where was pronounced dead.
Robert had served on the department's honor guard, and was also an ex-Marine and a Vietnam veteran. The pack test he
was performing requires firefighters to 45 pound pack a distance of three miles within 45 minutes. Robert is pictured here

Our brother Robert leaves behind his wife Yolanda and two grown daughters, Michelle and Tanya. Funeral and memorial
information will be posted when it is released.
