Very Special Donors Needed...To Help some Very Special Patients.
Cancer, organ transplants, leukemia - each day we become more aware of our family, friends, and neighbors who must
deal with the devestating effects of serious illness. Too often we wish there was something - anything - we could do to
help, but are frustrated because we must stand helplessly by and watch those we care about suffering and in need. But
you can make a difference.

The need for blood and blood products is continually growing. More apheresis donors are needed. There are many things
you can do with your time. But you will never do anything that makes you feel better about yourself, or is of more
importance to another person, than giving your time to donate platelets or plasma.
Can you be a Donor?
If you are aged 17 to 65, in good health, and weigh over 110 pounds, you may be able to donate platelets or plasma.
How does it work?
Step 1:
An apheresis staff member asks questions about your medical history.
Step 2:
The staff member takes your pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and red cell count.
Step 3:
You may watch a movie, listen to music, or simply relax while an apheresis staff member closely monitors your donation.
Step 4:
Refreshments and relaxation.
