FireFighter/Training Officer Ronald Fitzpatrick, 68, a 27 year
retired veteran of the Newark Fire Department Truck 3, and
a member of the Long Branch Fire Department Phil Daly Hose
Company died Saturday December 6, 2003. Ronald died of an
apparent heart attack at the scene of an abandoned
commercial structure fire in Long Branch.
Ronald was the Training Officer for the Long Branch Fire
Department as well as an instructor at Monmouth County Fire
Academy. He retired as a Captain from Truck 3 of the Newark
Fire Department in 1986, receiving numerous citations and
valor awards for heroism during his career.
Our brother Ronald was predeceased by his wife Gloria, and
leaves behind his two sons Stephen and Kevin, and his three
daughters Kathleen, Eileen, and Mary. A visitation will be held
for Ronald on Wednesday December 10, 2003 1-9PM at Damiano
Funeral Home in Long Branch. A funeral will be held for Ronald
on Thursday December 11, 2003 10AM at Saint Michael's Roman
Catholic Church in Long Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorial
