Our condolences to the Jones family and the Maryland Line
Volunteer Fire Company of Baltimore County, Maryland. FireFighter
Richard Jones, 65, a 48 year veteran of the Maryland Line Volunteer
Fire Company died Wednesday January 14, 2004. Richard went
home after his shift and died in his sleep from heart related issues.
Richard joined the Maryland Line Volunteer Fire Company in 1956.
During his career Richard served the department as Captain,
President, Vice President, and as a member of the Board of
Directors. His son Bret is also a firefighter with the Maryland Line
Volunteer Fire Company and his brother Gene is the department's
Chief Engineer.
Our brother Richard leaves behind his wife Judy, his daughter Kelly,
and his son Bret. A visitation will be held for RIchard on Sunday
January 18, 2004 3-5PM and 7-9PM at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary in
New Freedom, Pennsylvania. A funeral will be held for Richard on
Monday January 19, 2004 11AM at Maryland Line Cemetery in
Maryland Line.
