Our condolences to the Nichols family and the Loretto, Alabama Volunteer Fire Department. FireFighter Robert Nichols, 39, a veteran of the Loretto Volunteer Fire Department, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002. Robert was working traffic control at the scene of a water-main break when he collapsed from an apparent heart attack. He later died at Woodland Medical Center.

     Our brother Robert left behind a wife, Patti, and his daughter, Heather. Visitation was Saturday, February 16, 2002, 6-9PM, at the Cullman Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Sunday, February 17, 2002, at the Cullman Heritage Chapel followed by a burial at Good Hope Cemetery. His brothers, also in the fire service, were the pallbearers.
