Our condolences to the Dunn family and the Clute Volunteer Fire Department of Texas. Captain Roger Dunn, 48, a 16 year
veteran of the Clute Volunteer Fire Department died Monday August 12, 2002. Roger collapsed at the scene of a
multi-department residential structure fire in Freeport. He was rushed to Brazosport Memorial Hospital, where he was
pronounced dead. The cause of his death is still under investigation.
Roger worked as a firefighter for Dow Chemical Company for 23 years. His brother is also a member of the department. His
father, who died last year, spent many years as a volunteer for the department.
Our brother Roger leaves behind his wife Nancy, and two daughters, Nicole and Melanie. Visitation for Roger will be held
Thursday August 15, 2002 6-8PM at Lakewood Funeral Home in Clute. A funeral will be held Friday August 16, 2002 10AM at
the First Baptist Church of Clute. A memorial fund has been established for the family and donations can be made to:
