FireFighter Ralph Sanzeri Jr, 31, a 10 year veteran of the Thomaston Fire Department died
Monday November 11, 2002. Ralph was killed in an off-duty accident. He was filling a
compressed air cylinder with new equipment at his bait and tackle shop when it exploded.
OSHA is investigating the cause of the malfunction.
Ralph co-owned Sanzeri's Bait and Tackle Shop with his father Ralph Sr. He was the leader
of the Thomaston Fire Department Dive Rescue Team.
Our brother Ralph leaves behind his wife, his parents, and a brother. Calling hours for Ralph
will be held Friday November 15, 2002 5-8PM at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High Street in
Thomaston. A memorial funeral will be held Saturday November 16, 2002 9:30AM from Lyons
Funeral Home to St. Thomas Church on East Main Street in Thomaston for a 10AM mass.
Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston.
