Our condolences to the Wilson family and the Baltimore City Fire
Department of Maryland. Fire Recruit Rachael Wilson, 29, a Baltimore
City Fire Recruit expected to graduate in March, died Friday February
9, 2007. Rachael was extinguishing a blaze during a live fire exercise
in a vacant 3-story rowhouse when she collapsed. She was transported
to Maryland Shock Trauma Center where she died shortly after. Two
other recruits were injured in the fire and were treated and released
from Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
Our sister Rachael leaves behind her son Cameron (8), her daughter
Princess (11), and her boyfriend of 10 years Larry Davis. A viewing
will be held for Rachael on Thursday February 15, 2007 12-8PM at John
Wesley United Methodist Church, North Avenue and Hilton Street in
Baltimore. A funeral will be held on Friday February 16, 2007 11AM at
New Psalmist Baptist Church, Old Frederick Road in Baltimore followed
by a cemetery service at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, East Padonia
Road in Lutherville. At the family's request, internment will be in
Denver, Colorado. A memorial fund has been established for her two
