Our condolences to the Engdahl family and the McPherson County
Rural Fire Department #2 of Marquette, Kansas. Fire Chief Stanley
Engdahl, 78, the Marquetee Volunteer Fire Chief for over 30 years,
died Monday November 12, 2007. Stanley had responded to the scene
of a residential stove fire. Shortly after the fire was under
control and units were clearing the scene, he suffered an apparent
heart attack and passed away.
Stanley was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was also the
founder and curator of the Kansas Motorcycle Museum in Marquette.
He had competed in motorcycle races for 47 years and was a five-time
national champion before retiring.
Our brother Stanley leaves behind his wife LoVona. A visitation
will be held for Stanley on Thursday November 15, 2007 4-7PM at
Elim Lutheran Church in Marquette. A funeral will be held for
Stanley on Friday November 16, 2007 10AM at the church. In lieu
