Our condolences to the Mumm family and the Mendota Fire Department
of Illinois. Lieutenant Scott Mumm, 34, a 13 year veteran of the
Mendota Fire Department, died Monday October 29, 2007. Scott had
operated as a water tender at a coal rail car fire during the early
evening. After returning home, he took a nap before his other job
started at midnight. When his wife attempted to wake him, he was
unresponsive. He was transported to Mendota Community Hospital
where he died shortly after.
Our brother Scott leaves behind his wife Melissa, his two daughters
Morgan (12) and Abby (6), and his son Brett (7). A visitation for Scott
will be held on Thursday November 1, 2007 3-6PM at Merritt Funeral
Home in Mendota. A funeral for Scott will be held on Friday November
2, 2007 11AM at First United Methodist Church in Mendota. A memorial
