Our condolences to the Brown family and the Dearborn Area Fire Protection District, Missouri. Travis Brown, 30, a volunteer
firefighter with 8 months experience, was killed Saturday, June 2, 2001. While responding to a barn fire through a
request from the Edgerton Fire Department, Travis was ejected, when the tanker truck he was riding in overturned.
He was pronouced dead at the scene. The driver was taken by helicopter and listed in serious condition.

Unfortunately, there is more bad news with this incident. Jason Hendrix, 26, a volunteer firefighter with the Edgerton
Trimble Fire Department in Platte County was charged Sunday with second-degree arson, the Sheriff's Department
reported. Bond has been set at $20,000.
