Our condolences to the McKenzie family and the Gem County Fire
Protection District #2 of Sweet, Idaho. FireFighter Vernon McKenzie,
64, an Assistant Ranger and 25 year veteran of the forest service,
died Saturday May 28, 2007. Vernon had performed his Wildland Pack
Test in preparation of joining his older son on the firelines this
year. After the test he returned home and complained of not feeling
well. He was transported to a local hospital where he died shortly
after.
Our brother Vernon leaves behind his sons, Rick, Randy, and his
daughters Lisa, and Tina. A celebration of Vernon's life will be
held on Saturday May 5, 2007 1PM at the Ola Community Church in
Ola, Idaho. The famil has requested that memorial contributions
