Our condolences to the Pinkerton family and the Union Fire Company
of Medford, New Jersey. Fire Police Captain Woodrow Pinkerton, 63,
a 20 year veteran of the Union Fire Company Station 251 died
Saturday April 19, 2003. Woodrow passed away at Cooper University
Medical Center. He succumbed to injuries sutained when he was
struck by a car while controlling traffic on State Highway 70 at the
scene of an mva on a foggy morning Sunday February 23, 2003.
The accident was the fifth in a series of 10 accidents in just over
an hour that morning.
Woody had lived in Medford since 1979. He was a Life Member, a
Vice President, and a Fire Police Captain at the the Union Fire
Company Station 251 in Medford. He was also an Army veteran
who served his country in the Vietnam War, and was a member
of VFW Post 7677 in Medford. Woodrow's father was a member
of the Philidelphia Park Police.
Our brother Woodrow leaves behind his wife, Elaine, his two
daughters Sharon and Robyn, and his two grandsons Justin and
Zachary. A visitation will be held Wednesday April 23, 2003 6-9PM
at Fellowship Alliance Chapel in Medford. A funeral service with
department honors will be held Thursday April 24, 2003 10AM at
the Fellowship Alliance Chapel in Medford, internment following at
Odd Fellows Cemetery in Medford. A memorial fund has been
